So, you want to participate in the conference?
Great! You can take part if you meet all of the following criteria:

Affiliated with a European knowledge institution (university, research centre, or equivalent)
and

Actively enrolled as a PhD researcher
and

Working on a hydrogen-related topic
If you meet these three requirements, you are eligible to participate in EPHyC 2026!
Whether you have just started your PhD or are approaching your thesis defence, you are warmly welcome at the conference.

Registration process
Registration for the conference is a multi-step process which takes place on our dedicated SciencesConf registration platform.
Follow the steps below as a guide for your registration.
Note: only abstracts submitted through the platform will be reviewed. Any submissions sent directly via email will not be viewed or processed.
Note: This last step is crucial. If you do not complete this step, you are NOT registered for the conference, and your spot will be given to another researcher.
Abstract guidelines
A detailed description of the abstract requirements is available on the Submission Instructions page of the SciencesConf platform. Please make an account to access it.
You may also download the templates directly from the submission page.

The main points are:
-
The abstract must be written in English.
-
The maximum length is three pages.
-
The level of detail may reflect the stage of your PhD - early-stage researchers may outline their project, while advanced candidates may present methods, results, and conclusions.
-
The abstract should clearly state the main objectives, key results (or expected results), and the most relevant conclusions.
-
Only an abstract is required. No full paper submission is needed after acceptance

Note: EPHyC does not claim copyright on submitted abstracts or presentations. Accepted abstracts will be included in the online Book of Abstracts after the event unless the author requests exclusion.

Note: EPHyC reserves the right to close submissions earlier if the maximum number of participants is reached before the deadline.
After the submission deadline

All authors will receive notification of acceptance or rejection once the review process is complete.
April 2026
Registration phase
All authors of accepted abstracts will receive an acceptance code. This code is required to complete the official registration for the conference via the SciencesConf platform.
During registration, participants will also be able to sign up for social activities and provide practical information (e.g. dietary requirements).

From this moment onwards, we encourage participants to begin booking accommodation in Trondheim, arrange travel, and prepare for EPHyC 2026.
Topics
EPHyC 2026 welcomes submissions from all hydrogen-related research fields. Abstracts may address, but are not limited to, the following areas, which reflect the broad, interdisciplinary nature of hydrogen research and ensure that PhD candidates from all related domains are encouraged to participate:
