The Barcolana

The Barcolana is an international sailing regatta held annually in the Gulf of Trieste. Renowned as one of the most successful regattas, it set a Guinness World Record in 2018 as the 'Largest Sailing Race' with 2,689 registered boats.

The Carso

The Carso is a limestone plateau along the eastern border of Friuli Venezia Giulia, extending from Gorizia to Istria through Trieste. Its landscape features numerous sinkholes, caves, stone-carved paths, and cliffs dropping into the Adriatic Sea.

Trieste Centrale

Trieste's train station (Trieste centrale) is located in the city center, a 10-minute walk from the main square, Piazza dell’ Unità.

The station is a hub connecting to all the major airports in northern Italy. Trieste's train station is a terminus, so you can't miss the stop!

Trieste Bus Station

Next to the train station, there is the Trieste Bus Station, which connects the city with Trieste FVG Airport in Ronchi dei Legionari and Marco Polo Airport in Venice, making it a great transportation hub.

Trieste Airport is the Italian airport of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is 30 km from the city of Trieste. The airport is well connected to the city centre by a railway or bus line:

Train connection: Take a direct train from Trieste Airport to Trieste Centrale.
Bus connection: A bus service runs from Trieste Airport to Trieste Bus Station.

Venice - Marco Polo Airport

Venice Airport is among the most important airports in Italy by passenger numbers. The Venice airport is connected to Trieste city center by railway or bus line:

Ljubljana Airport
